Country codes are ISO 3166-1 alpha-2; leave it out for worldwide figures. `weeks` is 1 to 26. Every response carries the licence and the credit line. The same data is available to AI assistants through our [MCP server](https://tapsafely.com/developers). How each number is produced, and what it can and can't tell you, is set out in our [methodology](https://tapsafely.com/methodology). ## Questions Can I use this data in an article, an app or an AI product? Yes, including commercially. The licence is CC BY 4.0: credit TapSafely and link to tapsafely.com/data. For heavy API use, ask us for a key. How current is it? The Scam Index updates continuously and is cached for an hour. The reporting directory and the statistics carry the date they were last checked, and we review them every few months. Why are some Scam Index numbers missing? We withhold any count below 10, and any week with fewer than 50 checks, so a handful of checks can't give a misleading picture or point to an individual. Do you share the messages people check? No. We never store the text, links or screenshots people check. The Scam Index is built from anonymous counts: scam type, risk level, country and day. I found a mistake. How do I report it? Email us and we'll correct it and date the change. Reporting services move and phone numbers change, so we're grateful for every correction.
