# Terms of use

By using TapSafely (the “Service”), operated by A.I.T. Multiverse Consulting Ltd, you agree to these terms.

## 1. What the Service is

The Service provides automated risk assessments and general educational information about scams. Results are opinions generated by software, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not legal, financial or security advice.

TapSafely is an independent, privately run service. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government, police force, bank or company mentioned on the site. Brand names are used only to describe scams that impersonate them.

## 2. Your responsibilities

- Don't submit content you have no right to share, or other people's sensitive personal data, where you can avoid it.
- Don't use the Service to test or improve scams, to attack or overload it, or to scrape it at scale. API use is subject to the limits on our [developers page](https://tapsafely.com/developers).
- Reports you submit must be truthful. Don't use reports to harass or defame anyone.

## Copyright and use of our content

The Service, including its text, guides, example messages, images, the TapSafely name and logo, software, rules and data, belongs to A.I.T. Multiverse Consulting Ltd and is protected by copyright and other laws. All rights are reserved.

- You may read, share links to, and quote short parts of our pages with a link back to the page.
- You may not copy, republish, mirror, frame, scrape at scale, translate for republication, or sell our content or code, or build a copy of the Service, without our written permission.
- Search engines and AI assistants may index our pages and use them to answer people's questions, as set out in our [robots.txt](https://tapsafely.com/robots.txt), provided they link to the source.
- Journalists and non-profits can use our logo and short quotes as described on our [press page](https://tapsafely.com/press).
- To report a copy of our site or content, email [hello@tapsafely.com](mailto:hello@tapsafely.com) with the address of the copy.

## 3. Content you submit

You give us permission to use reports you submit to operate the Service and warn the public, in edited and anonymised form. We may decline or remove any report.

## 4. No guarantee

The Service is provided “as is”. We don't guarantee that any message, link or website is safe or unsafe. Always verify through official channels before sharing information or making payments.

## 5. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the Service, including losses caused by fraud committed by third parties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

## 6. Third-party links and ads

We are not responsible for third-party websites, products or advertisements, including those of affiliate partners.

## 7. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will show the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
