Install TapSafely on your phone
Add TapSafely to your home screen and it opens like an app. On Android you can then share a suspicious text, email, link or screenshot straight to TapSafely, and the check starts by itself.

Your browser doesn't offer a one-tap install here. The steps below work in every major browser.
Check a message straight from your phone's share button
Once TapSafely is installed on Android, it appears in the share menu of your other apps:
- Long-press the suspicious message in your texts, email or chat app. For a screenshot, open it in your gallery.
- Tap Share, then choose TapSafely. You may need to tap More the first time.
- The check runs by itself. You'll see the risk level, the warning signs and what to do next.
- Warn your family in one tap, with a ready-made message that never includes what you checked.
How to install it
Android (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Edge)
- Open tapsafely.com.
- Tap the menu (three dots) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Confirm. The TapSafely icon appears with your other apps.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open tapsafely.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
iPhone doesn't yet let web apps appear in the share menu. On iPhone, copy the message, open TapSafely and tap Paste from clipboard. For emails, forward them to check@tapsafely.com.
Computer (Chrome or Edge)
Click the install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install TapSafely.
What the app can and can't do
- It asks for no permissions and can't read your messages. It only sees what you share or paste.
- It doesn't keep what you check, just like the website. Your recent verdicts are saved on your phone only, and you can clear them.
- It doesn't work offline, on purpose: every check needs today's scam patterns.

Is the TapSafely app free?
Yes. It is the same free website, saved to your home screen so it opens like an app. There is nothing to buy and no account to create.
Do I need an app store?
No. You add it from your browser in a few seconds, and it updates itself whenever the website does.
What can I share to it?
On Android: text messages, emails, chat messages, links and screenshots. Long-press the message or open the screenshot, tap Share, then choose TapSafely. The check starts on its own.
Can TapSafely read my messages?
No. It only ever sees what you choose to share or paste into it, and like the website it doesn't store what you check. It asks for no permissions.
Does it work offline?
No, on purpose. Every check needs the latest scam patterns and a live look at where links lead, so the app always loads fresh from the website.
How do I remove it?
Remove it like any other app: long-press the icon and choose Uninstall or Remove. On a computer, open it and choose Uninstall from its menu.
